Disclaimer: I am not an expert in any of the topics covered in this Blog such as Biblical prophecy, history or science etc. The purpose of this Blog is to provide a brief overview of the resources provided below, which I have gathered from experts in their field. You may find these resources helpful when conducting your own research.

"From The Beginning"

‘He Shall Be’ is the third song from my 5-Song EP 'Are You Ready’. The upbeat/epic cinematic orchestral pop song depicts how “from the beginning”, God had a plan to redeem man from the wages of sin. As Dr Archbishop Costakis Evangelou MBE puts it, “God saved the world before He made the world.”

"Declared Ahead Of Time"

As I got closer to finishing the lyrics back in June 2020, I knew something was missing. One morning as I was praying, my mother sent me a page from her Bible which said, God ‘first declares things; then He does them’…That was it. To help express that the way to Salvation was “declared ahead of time” these lyrics had to be included in the song (Isaiah 48).

Joyce Meyer explains how this principle of declaring things before they happen explains why God sent the prophets: 'Jesus did not come to the earth until first, the prophets had spoken about Him for hundreds of years. God operates in spiritual laws that He has set in place and we cannot ignore them.'

pg. 1115 of The Everyday Life Bible

After Jesus had risen, He said to those who had witnessed His resurrection, “these are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” He then goes onto tell those that were with Him, what has been and what will be - “this is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem” (Luke 24:44-48).

"Clothed in His Righteousness"

“We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind” (Isaiah 64:9). Yet, from the very first pages and verses of the Bible (particularly in its original Greek and Hebrew form) and all throughout, we see that God had orchestrated His Son’s life, death and Resurrection so that man could be forgiven and saved from the penalty of sin. The Good News is that when we put our faith in Jesus Christ and believe that He died and rose again, we are washed white as snow (Isaiah 1:18). Isaiah tells us that those who believe will be dressed with the clothing of Salvation and clothed in His righteousness, not our own, “like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding or a bride with her jewels” (61:10).

Is The Bible Relevant Today?

President and Founder of ‘Reasons to Believe’, Hugh Ross states that ‘unique among all books ever written, the Bible accurately foretells specific events-in detail-many years, sometimes centuries before they occur. Approximately 2,500 prophecies appear in the pages of the Bible, about 2,000 of which already have been fulfilled to the letter - no errors.’

If approximately 2000 prophecies in the Bible have already been fulfilled, then what does that mean for us; what about the remaining 500 prophecies which haven’t yet been fulfilled?

The book and 2017 Major Motion picture ‘The Case for Christ’, based on a True Story, is a journalist’s personal investigation of the evidence for Jesus. Lee Strobel, a former atheist cross-examines a dozen experts who are recognised authorities in their fields of history, archaeology, and manuscripts to discover whether or not the Bible is reliable and delves deep to find out the truth about Jesus Christ - ‘histories most compelling figure.’ (Link to book and film below).

Prophecy Fulfilled

One prophecy I chose to include in the song was Isaiah 53:7, ‘the sinless Lamb kept silent.’ Jesus was betrayed, beaten, mocked and spat upon as He was led to be crucified, yet He did not utter one word. Isaiah wrote approximately 740 years before Christ’s crucifixion took place, “He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He did not open His mouth.” Jesus re-affirmed before He was crucified that "they have done this to fulfil the word that is written in their Law, They hated Me without a cause" (John 15:25 & John 16:19). (A list of Biblical Prophecies and Fulfilment have been provided below.)

Can We Trust The Bible - Is it Reliable?

A professor named Peter Stoner worked with 600 students to figure out what the probability would be of just eight prophecies (of nearly 400 concerning Jesus) being fulfilled in any one person who had lived up to the present time. The result: 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000. 2 to 1”. The probability of just one of these prophecies coming to pass is off the scale - ‘Back to the Future' by Archbishop Dr Costakis Evangelou MBE (Link to Sermon below).

I pray this song and blog will encourage you to explore the reliability of the Bible for yourself - “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17). Please don't just take my word for it: Take a look at the variety of Resources below!
